Chester A. Waterous Covered Bridge

Here at Unalam, we have a long history of manufacturing both pedestrian and roadway bridges – but we are especially fond of covered bridges. We are proud to have manufactured the glulam truss structure for the Chester A. Waterous covered bridge over the Nashua river in Pepperell, MA. This bridge is ninety-four feet long, forty-seven feet wide, and thirty-three feet tall.

Because of the complexity of the finished product, the specifications required that we pre-assemble the entire bridge at our facility in Sidney, NY to be sure it would fit together. It was inspected and then disassembled and shipped to Pepperell, MA for final installation.
