Job Title: Project Associate
Department: Sales and Estimating
Reports to: Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Function: Manages all aspects of project workflow, including Shop Drawings, RFI and stain sample submittals, manufacturing scheduling, customer communication, billing, payment, and more. Works closely with Vice President of Sales & Marketing , Estimator , Draftsman, Vice President of Engineering, Vice President of Operations, Manufacturing Plant Supervisors, CEO and Accounting Manager to give individualized attention to specific projects.
Job Requirements
Education & Training:
- Relevant Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred but not required
- Certified Construction Manager credentials preferred but not required
Experience:
- 5 years prior project management experience preferred, preferably in construction
or custom structural wood products manufacturing
Pay Range:
- $35.- $37./hr. Based on training and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain quoted manufacturing & delivery schedule, with input from all
involved departments to ensure on-time job completion and delivery - Maintain all communication with customer once job is sold
- Organize & transmit all submittals(i.e. Shop Drawings,RFI’s,Stain Samples)
- Organize & schedule all shipments of completed jobs.
- Communicate with and order materials from vendors(i.e. Steel, hardware, decking)
- Maintain, organize and update Production Schedule Spreadsheet with Plant Supervisors and VP of Sales/Marketing based on workload, customer requests.
- Communicate daily with customers, manufacturing plant and VP of Sales/Marketing on jobs and production schedule.
- Communicate daily with VP of Engineering regarding shop drawing schedule/timeframe for completion of shop drawings
- Work with Accounting team to bill for jobs and ensure customer payment.
- Communicate effectively with sales, estimating, drafting, engineering, production, and billing departments to maintain production, delivery and payment schedule. Be a liaison between Unalam Office and Production Plant to ensure on-time delivery of a quality product
- Work with accounting team to bill for jobs, complete all steps necessary to get paid
by customer - Work with VP of Sales/Marketing on Contract Proceedings for Jobs
- Other duties as need arises

Function: Varies, Can Include:
- Receive, sort, grade and handle lumber
- Move packs of lumber, pile lumber, unload and load trucks
- Hand grade lumber and sort lumber into proper stacks
- Load scarfer with lumber and get lumber in correct order
- Set-up tunnel for lengths, monitor levels on RF tunnel & adjust machine when necessary
- Set-up and remove steel rods using air wrenches
- Handle up to 2’x12’ lumber at various lengths, glued beams up to 100 feet long with the help of co-workers and overhead cranes, and welded flat steel assemblies used to smooth laminated beam plies
- Accurately fabricating laminated wood beams from shop drawings
- Accurately and safely loading finished products on trucks for transportation to the job site
- Perform equipment and building maintenance as well as janitorial duties when needed
Pay Range: $ 19. /per hour – $ 30./per hour depending on Education/Training and Experience

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, then doing takeoffs and pricing for jobs such as churches, riding arenas, sports facilities, concert venues, schools, salt storage buildings, highway bridges, commercial buildings, etc. These jobs are priced from $1000. to well over $1,000,000.
- Researching and suggesting alternatives that will save Prospects and Unalam time and money by staying current with industry trends that will set Unalam apart from competitors.

Job Requirements
Education & Training:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Experience:
- 3-5 years proven track record selling custom products required, preferably in the
construction and/or manufacturing industries.
Pay Range: $33 – $36/ per hour
Duties and Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Plan and carry out all aspects of customer relationship building and sales
- Field phone calls and handle communication with all customers from the time of quotation to the time of sale. Follow up with potential customers on active prospects within 24 hours
- Research and identify potential customers (architects, engineers, contractors, local governments, town planners, private owners, etc)
- Cold call identified prospects to develop new business
- Reach out to past customers for testimonials, referrals, new sales
