Welcome New Team Members Kathy and Brett

     We are excited to welcome Kathy Preston to our team. She does Accounts Payable and Receivables for our Accounting Department. Kathy has an Associates Degree in Accounting and many years of experience, most recently at Delaware Opportunities, Inc. in Hamden, NY.
    Back in 2009 Kathy started her own printing business which she still runs on nights and weekends. Outside of working for us, and herself, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, and riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. 

      Brett Johnson is not new to Unalam but is working in a new capacity for the company. Brett started with us in 2002 as a full time template maker in the plant. He worked in that position for 5 years, producing a wide variety of shaped templates for gluing, templates for glulam fabrication, and for our custom steel connections. Whenever available he would work in our Finishing Department and learned how to fabricate and finish beams.
     In 2008, he became our AITC in house Director of Quality Control. That position included daily testing of our glues, finger joints, and inspection of finished products ensuring we sent out a high quality and safe product. 
     Brett is now our new Finishing Department Supervisor.  He comes to the position with years of knowledge and understanding of glulam production and the high standards he set as our Director of Quality Control. 
     Before working for us he owned a small woodworking business and prior to that he was an Assistant Manager for Hearth’s A Fire in Oneonta, NY.
