Visiting Two Una-Lam Projects in the Adirondacks
Over the past year, we’ve taken a few trips to the Lake Placid, NY area where we had the opportunity to visit some Una-Lam projects. The first is the Whiteface Mountain Observatory which is run by the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center at University at Albany. The building is actually an old Unadilla Silo built around 1970. In September, our CEO visited and took photos of the renovation work taking place. The third photo shows the completed renovations, taken on a very cloudy day in early June.

More recently, we supplied trusses for the new BioBuilding at the W!LD Center in Tupper Lake, NY. The W!LD Center is an awesome natural history museum with a lot of hands on and interactive exhibits. The BioBuilding is LEED Silver certified with a green roof and solar panels that help power the Center. Our glulam trusses form the backbone of this innovative structure.

If you find yourself in that area, you should definitely visit the summit of Whiteface Mountain and the W!LD Center.
