Visiting SAP North America Headquarters
Our sales professional was in the Philly area presenting AIA Lunch and Learns, and took the opportunity to visit SAP’s North America Headquarters in Newtown Square, PA. This is a LEED Platinum certified office building and we provided Forest Stewardship Council certified glulam for it in 2008-09.This was the first chance any of our team had to see the finished building.
These photos show some of the interesting design features. The base connection includes a true steel hinge, with the connection to glulam completely concealed using countersunk and plugged bolts. The angular, top of column connection is accomplished with a large, embedded steel plate, again with countersunk and plugged bolts.
