Unalam Welcomes Atlanta Methodist Church Leaders to Sidney Facility
Unalam was proud to welcome Pastor Stew Kouba and David Walling of the Atlanta Methodist Church from Atlanta, Texas, to its manufacturing facility in Sidney, New York. Unalam is currently producing custom glulam components for the church’s main worship space, a project more than 25 years in the making.
The scope of work includes Southern Yellow Pine arches, pitch and taper beams, structural beams, and tongue-and-groove decking. Several glulam members will also be pressure-treated to ensure durability for exterior exposure. Each element is being crafted to meet the church’s unique design and structural requirements, highlighting the precision and expertise behind the project.
Pastor Stew Kouba shared his enthusiasm for the partnership:
“After 25 years in the making, we are ready to build our sanctuary. There are only a few glulam manufacturers in the U.S. capable of meeting our specific needs, and Unalam truly saved the day. By working with Unalam, our proposed production time was cut in half. Rik, Ian, Craig, Lee, and the entire Unalam team have been an absolute joy to work with. They have excelled in communication, precision, and expertise throughout the process.
We recently had the opportunity to visit Unalam’s 1,800-linear-foot facility in Sidney, New York, and we are grateful for the warm welcome.
