TBT: Progress in Sidney
We did some digging in the office and found a publication in a local paper from when we first opened our plant in Sidney in 1963. The captions read:
(Left) Unadilla Laminated Products completed this huge new factory in
Sidney last year. They manufacture a wide range of laminated beams
and structural members for churches, schools, factories, recrea-
tional buildings and stores.Laminated beams are cheaper and more
attractive than conventional steel beams [depending]. Further expansion
is being considered by the company
(Right) Huge Barrel Arches were produced at the new Unadilla Laminat-
ed Products Plant in Sidney. They are being used in Massachusetts in
the construction of an arena with a 150-foot clear span. The arches are
92 feel long, weigh 8,000 lbs. each and contain 4,000 board feel of timber.

Our Sales Professional got to visit those very same barrel arches this year. The arches and arena are still in use by the community 57 years later.
