TBT: Home Sweet Home

 We give a lot of tours of our manufacturing plant in Sidney, NY. What a lot of people don’t realize (and we sometimes forget to point out) is that we manufactured our entire plant in the early 1960s!

We used out tried and true Gothic Arches for the storage sheds then bowstring trusses for the plant itself. Using the bowstring trusses allowed us to get a 120′ clear span down the 460′ length of the plant. 

Where were these glulams made before we had a glulam plant? In our original manufacturing facility in Unadilla, NY. In Unadilla we made silos and glulam arches, but with glulam building taking off we needed a whole new facility dedicated to just that. 

And, we’ve been in the same place ever since!
