Miss Porter’s Pool

 On a recent trip to Connecticut to give some Unalam AIA Lunch and Learns we were able to visit a few past projects. In 2006 we manufactured trusses for an 82′ span natatorium at Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT.

These trusses sit over a 25 yard, 8 lane pool, and can house up to 200 spectators. Athletics was an important aspect of the school’s founding in 1843 and remains one today. Miss Porter’s School boasts of alumni such as Jackie Onassis, Gloria Vanderbilt, and Mamie Gummer, although I don’t think any of them would have swam in this pool…
