Laying Out with Unalam
We make templates not only for our curved beams, but for straight beams that require more complex fabrication. Since almost all of our fabrication is done by hand having templates to cross check is an important part of our manufacturing process.
We use templates to mark everything from bolt holes, to angled cuts, to routing for steel plates and connections.
For Pitch and Taper Beams templates are very important. We use them, along with the shop drawings, not only for the curved portion but to help ensure that we accurately cut the beam to fit the roof line and supports.
