Interesting Glulam And Steel Rod Hybrid Trusses
Here are photos showing how we manufactured and assembled some unusual trusses that combined steel rods and glulam.
The top chord of the truss (the glulam part) was not sized to span the required distance by itself, so that necessitated the steel rods. We loosely fit them and they were tightened at the jobsite.
This photo (above) shows the trusses wrapped and ready to be loaded onto a truck. They are actually stored upside down. In the building, the glulam will be at the top, with the steel below. These trusses will be over a commons area of a community building.
