In the Finishing Department

 In our “Glulam Building: Start to Finish” series we touched on fabrication from shop drawings (Part 9C)  and fabrication that is determined in the Finishing Department (Part 9D). Below is an example of both. 


Here you can see Keith using a drill press for bolt holes laid out on the shop drawings, and Dan using a template to rout out a knot or void that doesn’t meet Architectural appearance grade. They are working on the 14″ x 72″ x 80′ long beams we featured a couple of weeks ago in: Extreme Face Bonding and Open Wide.
