Gluin’ On Up!

There are few things we can’t figure out how to do here at Unalam. These spiral stair stringers and hand rails are just another example of that. 

We have premade forms we can set to do spirals for stairs or other projects, within certain limitations. On this job we had to figure away around one of those limitations; the radius. 

The handrails have an inside radius just shy of 2′. A radius as tight as that can present challenges for a regular curved beam and requires us to make a custom form, let alone a spiral. But! The team at Unalam was able to come up with a great solution. 

They built a super custom form! Using this form they were able to meet the super tight radius and make it the length required for the project.
