From the Archives – Unalam and the Panama Canal
The papers around here regularly print stories from 50-100 years ago, just for fun. Because we have been around for so long, occasionally we learn about our own history. This little snippet from the Jan. 14, 2015 edition of The Walton Reporter talks about the time that we (way back when we made silos) took delivery of a great deal of lumber that shipped through the Panama canal. We looked it up, and the canal opened in August 1914, so this would have been less than a year after that. Times sure have changed, but one thing remains the same. We’re still here! A special thanks goes out to Lorraine Bryden-Miller, our recently retired Accountant, for finding this article.
