Curved Steel and Curved Glulam Assembly

This photo shows a steel and glulam assembly in our finishing department. You can see the curved CCA treated façade on the left and the stained roof edge beam on top of it on the right. When installed, those will be separated by a layer of rigid insulation. We are shop assembling these parts to reduce work in the field.


It was a tricky assembly because all of the curves needed to align. The biggest worry was about the steel curve, because it was fabricated separately. But, our steel fabricator – Freadman Steel, Inc. of Pittsfield, MA – did it perfectly.
