Construction Photos of Glulam Church Addition

Ron Lay of LeChase Construction sent us these construction photos of the Tudor arches we provided for an addition at an existing glulam church – St. John of Rochester, in Fairport, NY.

Connections to existing structures and to other materials are always the trickiest parts of projects. Here, Unalam helped ensure that connections to the existing building and new steel beams provided flexibility in fit-up, created the desired aesthetic, and maintained structural integrity. For example, only a portion of the new Tudor arches bear on supporting steel beams, the rest of the arch section continues as a visual element.
