Cobun Creek Bridge Project: Bridge Installation in West Virginia
Unalam is proud to have manufactured and supplied the recently completed Cobun Creek Bridge in Morgantown, West Virginia. Shipped in two 86-foot sections with a total span of 172 feet, this project is another outstanding addition to Unalam’s storied bridge-building history.
Manufactured using CCA .6 treated material, the bridge began as a collection of treated lumber components and was transformed into two fully assembled bridge halves in Unalam’s fabrication shop.

After the four primary stringer beams were planed and finished, Unalam’s team began full structural assembly, installing all steel cross bracing and connection hardware.

Once the structural framework was complete, the bridge railings were carefully installed by hand at the factory. Stainless steel grab bars and wire netting were then shipped directly to the job site for final installation.

Upon completion, each bridge half was loaded for transport as an oversized shipment requiring three escort vehicles per load.

The two sections were delivered to Morgantown, WV where the customer successfully set each bridge half into place with a single crane pick. An incredible process from start to finish.

We extend our sincerest thank you to SQP Construction and the City of Morgantown for their partnership on this project. Special recognition also goes to Derek Maul of GMA Structural for providing the bridge design.
Most importantly, we thank and congratulate the entire Unalam team for their dedication, craftsmanship, and hard work throughout this complex project. With many moving parts and challenges along the way, our team delivered exceptional results throughout every step of the process.
